Meridian Lock

The Meridian Lock fighting technique involves striking key points along the body's bioelectric ley lines to disrupt signaling between nverous system and muscle, effectively temporarily paralyzing the joint or body part struck.

It is highly effective in most cases, but can be countered by a fighter skilled in manipulating their ki, raising it to alevel that overwhelms the lock. It also doesn't work if the enemy's adrenalin is dangerously high, or if they are focused enough to force their debliltated limb back into operation through sheer force of will.

for obvious reasons meridian lock does not work on beings with no bioelectric nervous system (such as stone golems, for example)
